Research
I started by completing secondary research on work at home parents and how childcare can affect their workdays and productivity levels. I then interviewed 3 work at home parents and one individual who grew up with parents who worked at home. Through my interviews, I learned that parents are constantly being interrupted when their child needs attention, entertainment, or help transitioning between activities. In a study done by the Washington Post, a mother was observed during her workday. During the span of 3 hours, her child interrupted her a total of 45 times. I then started using the CNC machine to cut out my pieces and then started to assemble the box, first starting with the frame, and then adding the doors and panels.
